Cotton – Spider Mites:
In order to determine the appropriate control time, surveys should begin after the plants have developed 4–6 leaves.
The field is divided into 4 sections, and one leaf is collected from 25 plants at intervals of every 10–15 steps in each section. A total of 100 leaves are examined and the mites are counted using a magnifying glass.
If the pest is found only locally along the edges of the field or in specific areas within the field, only these areas should be treated with specific pesticides.
If the infestation has spread from the field edges into the field and the survey shows an average density of 5 spider mites per leaf in the Mediterranean Region or 10 spider mites per leaf in the Aegean and Southeastern Anatolia Regions, a full-area application should be carried out.
If tractor-mounted ground spraying equipment is used, between-row nozzles should be used.
The plant protection product VARTEKS 240 SC is an insecticide-acaricide classified as Group 23:6 according to its mode of action.
Repeated applications of plant protection products with the same mode of action may promote the development of resistance.
Therefore, in order to delay the development of resistance, do not exceed the total number of applications recommended for VARTEKS 240 SC during the same production season.
If repeated application is necessary, care should be taken to use plant protection products with a different mode of action (other than Group 23:6).
It is not recommended to use it in mixture with other plant protection products.
